🌟 Amazing Love in Action 🌟
In a world filled with division and heartache, the need for “Amazing Love” has never been more crucial. As we approach the Advent season, a time of reflection and anticipation of hope, stories of simple yet profound kindness remind us of the power love has to transform lives.
Justine, a member of Renewal Choir, recently witnessed such a moment that truly captured the essence of “Amazing Love.” While having a coffee at the Salvation Army cafĂ© in St. Pauls, she was struck by the compassion of a volunteer who tenderly cared for a young man struggling with addiction. This selfless act of feeding him, no judgment or demands, moved Justine deeply, reminding her—and all of us—that love is the most powerful force for healing and hope.
“Recently I went for a coffee at the local Salvation Army cafe in St Pauls. This cafe supports the local community especially those who are vulnerable and are on a low income, however all are welcome. As I was enjoying my cappuccino, a disheveled young lad came in who was clearly high on a substance, and was in a bad way and unable to talk. Just the sight of him broke my heart as being a mum I was thinking this is somebody’s son. One of the volunteers got straight up and welcomed this person with open arms. She spoke gently to him making no demands and guided him to a table. She fetched a bowl of fresh homemade soup and without any fuss hand fed him like a baby. She was so tender, calming and non- judgmental and just poured out compassion. The young gentlemen was clearly grateful but was unable to convey his thanks. The scene in front of me melted my heart and really brought home to me how fortunate I am and how sheltered I am from what is reality for some people.
This lady clearly has a gift and I told her this just as I was leaving. She was so humble but sadly replied we see it all here. She told me she understandably felt uncomfortable in these situations but with god’s love she does what she has to do. We need to remember all those amazing people who unconditionally support people like this every day.
